The Verella pairs antique finished brass with a ribbed green glass dome, and the ribbing is doing real work. A smooth tinted shade reads as a solid block from across a room. Ribbed glass breaks the surface into vertical facets that catch light at different angles, so the fixture stays interesting lit and unlit, which matters for a pendant hanging at eye level over a table.

At 9.4 inches across and 19.2 inches tall the proportions are tall rather than wide, which suits a narrow drop: over one end of an island, beside a bed in place of a lamp, or hung as a group along a longer counter.
